The Dantes Subject Standard Test (DSST)

The Dantes Subject Standard Tests (DSST) are college subject exams, which allow students to earn college credit for knowledge acquired outside the traditional classroom.  There are 38 subject exams from various disciplines including Business, Humanities, Mathematics, Physical Science and more. NOTE:  Western Washington University does not accept credit for DSST.

Fee:

The test fee is $85 per test payable to DSST at time of registration.

There is a $40 proctor fee payable (cash, check, or credit/debit) for non-WWU students at the time of appointment.

Registration:

For information on DSST tests, please visit the DSST website.  Registration is done at the Testing Center at the time of testing.  There is a DSST testing fee of $85 payable with a credit/debit card, and a $40 Testing Center proctoring fee, also payable with credit/debit.

Scores:

Online score reports are produced immediately after the test has ended.  Official score reports are mailed to the candidates’ designated institution (if selected at time of testing) within seven to ten business days.

Day of test:

Present current/valid identification, i.e., driver’s license, passport or picture student ID card.  Expired ID is not acceptable.

Test Length:

90 minutes

Retesting:

Candidates must wait three months (90 calendar days) from their last test date to retest on the same DSST title.
