CLEP

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a College Board testing program delivered by colleges and universities throughout the United States that offers exams in the areas of Social Science, Business, Mathematics, Technology, Humanities, and Physical Science.

Note: Although the Western’s Testing Center administers the CLEP test as a service to the community, Western Washington University does not award credit for this exam.

Fee:

There are two fees for the CLEP test, one is paid directly to the CLEP testing company prior to making the testing appointment, and one is paid to Western Washington University on test day.

• CLEP test fees are $87 per test, paid by credit card through My Account Portal on the CLEP website.
• Western Washington University test administration fee is $40.00, payable by cash, check or debit/credit on day of testing.

Registration:

Register/pay on the CLEP website and bring the TEST ID numbers to the Testing Center.  Appointments are required by calling (360) 650-3080.

Scores:

CLEP exam scores are available immediately, unless you are taking the English Composition Exam with essay. If no score recipient code has been entered through your My Account portal by the time of testing, CLEP will charge a $20 transcript fee to send scores to your college.

Day of Test:

Please bring the admission ticket/voucher confirming CLEP fee payment, $40 proctoring fee and one valid picture ID.

Acceptable ID is driver’s license, passport or other government-issued identification that includes photograph and signature. If you arrive without proper identification, you will not be admitted to the test.

Test Length: 

90 minutes.

Retesting:

Examinees must wait three (3) months from their last test date to retest on the same CLEP title(s).
