Technical Details - Aleks

Overview

Students will need to use a computer with the Google Chrome browser installed in order to use the online proctor function. Additionally students will then need the following for taking Official/Proctored MPA#2:  

If the web browser gets stuck or computer crashes while a student is taking the Placement Assessment, simply close the browser, or log out and log back in. ALEKS will resume the Placement Assessment exactly where the student left off, with no loss of the previous answers.

Please note that the MPA is designed to be completed in 60-90 minutes, though students are permitted 3 hours to complete it. Students are encouraged to take the MPA Practice Test to determine whether they have enough time, before requesting extended time accommodations. More information can be found on the ALEKS accessibility webpage.
